Fall 2026 CS0 Cohort

Starts September 2026 · runs through about December · about 4 months total · taught live in Kreyòl, fully online.

Commit about 2 hours a week for live class, plus 2–4 hours of homework and practice projects. Class days and times are set by polling everyone who registers, so it fits around your schedule. Enrollment is a $100 refundable deposit, which you get back when you complete the course, and every graduate receives a certificate. If cost or a laptop would otherwise keep you out, reach out and we'll work it out with you.

The Path

How CS0 Teacher Training Works

1. Complete the Course

Learn alongside Aprann's teacher-mentors, Hudson, Angelo, and Hacheley, through weekly live sessions, homework, and hands-on projects.

2. Mentor the Next Cohort

Once you've finished, you're invited to help teach and mentor future CS0 classes, passing what you learned on to the next group of teachers.

3. Keep Growing

Ongoing support through a WhatsApp community, plus pathways into more advanced material through Aprann's monthly Tech Talks.

The Curriculum

What Teachers Learn

Classes run on CMU CS Academy, a free, browser-based curriculum built by Carnegie Mellon University. It's fully interactive and graphical, uses the Python programming language, and needs very little bandwidth to run.

1. Shapes & Basics

Colors, gradients, and the fundamentals of programming.

2. Animation & Input

Bringing shapes to life and responding to the keyboard and mouse.

3. Conditionals & Interaction

Giving programs more complex logic and richer interaction.

4. Final Creative Project

Animating many shapes at once into an original project of your own design.

Past student-teachers have walked away with real, working programs, from a puzzle-pushing game called Panda Man to a card-matching memory game and an endless-runner in the spirit of the classic dinosaur game. That's the level of confidence this course is built to give you.
